Sandbox

Test on TRON testnet for free, then switch to live.

Tronergy has two environments: sandbox and live. You pick one in each request with the environment field.

  • sandbox runs on TRON testnet and uses free test credit.
  • live runs on TRON mainnet and uses the TRX you deposit.

Your API key works in both.

A sandbox request can never touch mainnet or spend real TRX.

Switch to live

Send "environment": "live" in the body. For GET endpoints, send it in the query string.

Request body
{
  "chain": "tron",
  "mode": "sponsored_broadcast",
  "environment": "live",
  "idempotencyKey": "6f1c2c3e-8a1b-4d7e-9a43-2b1f0c9d8e77",
  "payload": { "signed_tx": { "...": "..." } }
}

If you leave environment out, the request runs in sandbox. Always send "environment": "live" in production.

Things to know

  • Separate balances. Sandbox credit cannot pay for live relays, and live deposits do not top up sandbox. Operations and history are separate too.
  • Build for the right network. A transaction built on testnet does not work on mainnet. construct-tx returns expectedNetworkId (tron:shasta, tron:nile or tron:mainnet). Check that the wallet is on that network before your user signs.

Go-live checklist

  1. Fund your live balance.
  2. Swap testnet contracts for mainnet ones.
  3. Send "environment": "live" on every request.
  4. Set a low-balance alert so relays do not fail with INSUFFICIENT_BALANCE.
