Node proxy

Point TronWeb at a Tronergy node URL and your broadcasts become gasless. Early access.

Coming soon

The node proxy is in early access and not generally available yet. Contact support to get access and your proxy host. This page uses <PROXY_HOST> as a placeholder.

The node proxy works like a normal TRON full node such as TronGrid. Change one URL, and keep the rest of your code:

tron.ts
import { TronWeb } from 'tronweb'

const tronWeb = new TronWeb({ fullHost: 'https://<PROXY_HOST>' })
  • Reads (balances, blocks, contract calls) go straight to the TRON network.
  • Broadcasts that need energy, such as a USDT transfer, are relayed through Tronergy. We cover energy and bandwidth and broadcast the transaction as signed. You pay from your balance.
  • Plain TRX transfers and other bandwidth-only transactions go straight to the network, paid by the sender.

Use the proxy when you cannot easily change how your app broadcasts. Use the REST API when you want full control and status tracking.

Choose who gets sponsored

Linked wallets

Link the addresses your users send from in the dashboard. You prove you own each one by signing a message with it. Broadcasts from linked addresses are sponsored. Others go to the network as normal.

A node link is a private proxy URL. Every energy-using broadcast through it is sponsored, whoever signed it. Use it when you do not know your users' addresses in advance.

tron.ts
const tronWeb = new TronWeb({ fullHost: 'https://<PROXY_HOST>/n/<code>' })

For gRPC, send the code as x-node-link metadata instead. Create links in the dashboard under Developer → Node Connection.

The link code works like a password. Anyone who has it can spend your balance. Keep it secret, set an expiry, and revoke it if it leaks.

When sponsorship fails

Your broadcast policy decides what happens to a linked wallet's transaction if it cannot be sponsored:

  • protect (default): the transaction is not broadcast, but the proxy still answers with success.
  • passthrough: it is broadcast unsponsored, and the sender burns their own TRX.
  • reject: the proxy returns 403 NON_GASLESS_REJECTED.

With protect, your app sees result: true even though nothing was sent. Pick reject if your app must see an error. Node links always use protect.

Get started

  1. Ask support for early access.
  2. Fund your balance.
  3. Link your sending wallets, or create a node link.
  4. Pick a broadcast policy.
  5. Point TronWeb's fullHost at the proxy.

See node proxy API for settings, links, broadcast history and proxy errors.
